Woking
Woking is a large town with borough status in the county of Surrey. The history of Woking dates back to A.D. 673 when it was a settlement of the Wessex tribe. Woking has excellent rail links and has now become a popular commuter town for people working in London.

Probably the most famous resident of Woking was the author H. G. Wells. In his book, ‘The War of the Worlds’ the Martians landed at Horsell common near Woking. There is a large sculpture of a Martian spaceship in the town that immortalizes this incident.
