Twickenham

Twickenham is the proud home of the Twickenham Stadium, which is the headquarters of the Rugby Football Union. Over the years, the stadium has encouraged the growth of a lot of housing and restaurants in the surrounding area. Twickenham is also notable for its arts heritage and is the location of the Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall. The RMSM was founded in 1857 by Field Marshal HRH (or, House of Hanover) The Duke of Cambridge, who was the Commander in Chief of the British Army at the time.

A great deal of the history of Twickenham is at the History Centre of Twickenham. You will be able to find out that the year 704 A.D. held the first written mention of ‘Tuican hom’ in a Charter, later misspelled into Twickenham.

Twickenham sits along the River banks of the Thames and is a beautiful place to take a drive in your car hire and enjoy its tranquill settings.
