Tolworth

Tolworth is a small residential community within the Borough of Kingston upon Thames.  This London suburb is near Berrylands, Surbiton, Ewell, and New Malden.  The community is mainly a setting of 1930’s era semi-detached homes with various small to mid-sized retail and commercial development.  The community has an industrial consentration served by the A3 London to Portsmouth road which runs through the area.  Two access points to this road lie to the north at Broadway, and to the south at the A240 or Kingston Road.

This roundabout is named the Toby Jug Roundabout after a public house that stood nearby until 2002.  South West Trains also has a branch line between London Waterloo and Chessington not far to the south.  The Ministry of Defence once occupied an extensive office complex, which has sat vacant for many years; this complex is bounded by the rail line and the A3.  Commuting has become a way of life for the people in this community.
