Shepperton

The Shepperton community is located in Surrey within the borough of Spelthorne just north of Greater London.  The community’s southern border is the Thames River and the M3 road bisects the town.

Shepperton gets its name from “Shepperd’s Town”; a reflection of the communities history is the name of one of the older streets, Sheep Walk.  In the 1086 Doomsday Book the town was labelled Scepertone.  Another famous fact is that Shepperton is where H.G. Wells located his novel “The War of the Worlds”.  It is also the home of author J.G. Ballard and Shepperton Studios where such films as The Third Man by Carol Reed, Kevin and Perry Go Large by Harry Enfield, and Frankenstein by Kenneth Branagh were created.  The community’s most noteworthy fact to non-British citizens is the fact that it is in the famed H.G. Wells book.

If you wanted to buy property and then let it out, you would need a different type of mortgage instead of a residential mortgage to do it.  A Buy to Let Mortgage would allow you to become a landlord and rent the property.  Where as with most banks, a residential home mortgage is based upon your salary to show the ability to repay, a Buy to Let Mortgage is based on proof that the rental income will cover the interest costs of the mortgage.
