Norbury

In the London borough of Croydon sits the suburb of Norbury, also known as Nordbury.  Norbury shares its borders with the London boroughs of Lambeth and Merton, as well as a postcode SW16 with Streatham.

A notable place, Norbury Hall was built in 1802 for William Coles and then sold to the fifth mayor of Croydon, James Hobbs in 1884.  The Hobbs family held the building until 1958 when the Borough of Croydon purchased the property.  Most of the farm and open land that went with Norbury Hall had been settled upon by this time when the London County Council built almost 500 homes in Norbury between 1906-1910.  Norbury Hall now sits on Craignish Avenue.

If you wish to move into this historic and old English community, you could do so for as low as £20,000 .  This would be a great savings for a first time home buyer, or someone moving their mortgage from another lender.  Up to 80% of the value of your property can be used to borrow from.  The chance to get a free valuation or a free legal package is available if you are moving your mortgage from another lender.  Certain conditions and charges do apply such as a 3% charge for repayments exceeding 10% of the borrowed amount for any calendar year in the first five years; there is also a repayment charge if you repay all or part of the mortgage within the first five years as well.
