Forest Hill
If you are trying to find a home to buy with your mortgage, it is perhaps better to decide on a place that will affect your mortgage and interest rate positively. This can be said of Forest Hill and when you apply for a home loan or even a remortgage with your house or apartment here, you will be given good prices. This also depends on the amount of money you earn every month and how good you are at making monthly payments. The popularity of Forest Hill has been steadily increasing with home buyers and investors and since the plans to extend the East London Line here were mentioned in 2004, it has seen a boom in sales.
Forest Hill was named by a developer in 1790 after the part of the forest that was left on Sydenham Hill. This area became popular when the massive Crystal Palace was moved to Sydenham Hill and most of the western parts were developed. There was once a canal here, but was unsuccessful commercially and was eventually bought by the Croydon Railway Company who built the railway live over it. There is a small foot path outside the local pub which is the only evidence left of the canal.
There is plenty of entertainment you can enjoy once you have moved in and you will find the Horniman Museum here as well as lots of live music and comedy venues like The Hob. The Dartmouth Arms is another great place to come and was recently named one of the best gastropubs in London. There are lots of great semi detached and detached homes here that you can get with your mortgage.
